150 works proposed
Uzbekistan presents a prestigious exhibition: The Avant-garde in the Desert, which tells a lesser-known story of non-European art from the first half of the 20th century, the flourishing avant-garde in Uzbekistan. With 150 proposed works, mainly paintings on canvas, alongside a collection of Uzbek textile tradition testimonials. All works are from the National Museum of Tashkent and the Savitsky Museum in Nukus. Spanning two locations, one in Florence and one in Venice, the exhibition will take place in the former Medici palace from April 17 to July 28, and in Venice, at Ca’ Foscari, from April 17 to September 29.
